Fashion Design
The Fashion Design program at SSPAD nurtures the next generation of designers by building strong foundations in creativity, craftsmanship, aesthetics, and innovation. The program blends traditional design techniques with contemporary industry practices, empowering students to conceptualize, design, and construct garments that are both functional and expressive.
Through hands-on studio practice, material exploration, illustration, draping, pattern-making, digital fashion tools, and brand-focused thinking, students develop a holistic understanding of the fashion ecosystem. The curriculum encourages original thought, sustainable design approaches, and a deep awareness of cultural context—ensuring graduates are equipped to create relevant, responsible, and future-focused fashion solutions.
The Fashion Design program offers a comprehensive and progressive curriculum that covers the entire spectrum of fashion creation—from ideation to execution. Students engage in diverse areas of learning such as fashion illustration and digital visualization, pattern making, garment construction, creative draping, textile science, surface design, and material exploration. They also develop skills in fashion forecasting, trend research, consumer insights, accessory design, sustainable fashion systems, ethical production, and professional portfolio development. Learning is delivered through a rich blend of studio courses, workshops, lectures, labs, field visits, and industry projects, ensuring that students apply design principles within real-world contexts. The final semester culminates in a capstone industry-aligned project or a self-initiated design collection, allowing students to collaborate with mentors, industry experts, and craft communities to produce a refined and professional body of work.

- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- CLO 3D for digital garment simulation
- WGSN / Trend forecasting tools
- Draping tools, mannequins, textile labs, and prototyping facilities
